By using a simplified 3D model to estimate the building envelope load, this tool allows for accurate evaluation of ZEB Ready achievement potential even in the early stages of design when equipment specifications have yet to be determined. It features a user interface with pre-formulated calculation logic that allows designers to easily input the necessary information. This enables architectural designers themselves to estimate envelope loads in several tens of seconds.
The system accounts for factors such as building orientation, window specifications, and the shading effects of eaves and louvers, reflecting them in the simulation results. This allows for real-time evaluation of the effectiveness of environmentally conscious design features while comparing and proposing different design options. -
