Clean-Crete

Environmentally friendly concrete utilizing industrial by-products

POINT

  • Up to 80% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to ordinary concrete

Reduction of CO2 emissions with Clean-Crete

Clean-Crete replaces most of the cement with industrial by-products that generate less CO2 (e.g., ground granulated blast furnace slag and fly ash), reducing CO2 emissions by up to 80% compared to ordinary concrete. It can be used for both precast products and cast-in-place applications.

  • Outstanding cumulative placement volume and CO2 reduction

    Trends in Clean-Crete applications

Since its development in 2010, Clean-Crete has expanded nationwide through the establishment of a supply network and the acquisition of a SuMPO EPD, among other promotional efforts. To date, it has been used in approximately 120 building and civil engineering projects, with a cumulative placement volume of about 443,000 m³ and an estimated CO2 emissions reduction of roughly 100,000 tons (according to our estimates).

  • Shelt-Clear—Protective coating resistant to deterioration

Application of Clean-Crete to above-ground structures

Shelt-Clear is a transparent coating used for exposed concrete finishes. It enhances the durability of reinforced concrete structures by coating the surface while maintaining the aesthetic appearance of the concrete.
Because it imparts resistance to neutralization when used with Clean-Crete, it is now being applied to above-ground structures—where use had previously been limited due to concerns about neutralization.
